Scripture of the month

1 John 4:15-21

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love, because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

There is nothing  more important to us here, at The Foundation, than living and walking in God’s presence.  We believe that our salvation is just the beginning, and there is so much more to being in the Kingdom of God.  We believe that when Jesus commanded us to go and “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely you have received, freely give”. Mat 10:7-8  He meant it!

Our goal, here at The Foundation, is to help you move in to God’s presence and equip you for the work of the Kingdom.  It is our desire to help you accomplish God’s purpose for your life.

We invite you to join us as we passionately pursue Him together!

Pastor Enoch's Place

7/30/2010

The one thing I detest more than any other thing in the church today, is the "religious spirit".  I believe the religious spirit is so deep seated in our churches, even the so called "Spirit filled" churches, that I almost refuse to walk into many of them.  That may sound harsh, but the truth usually is. If you were alive in the days when Jesus walked the earth and you knew what you know about the bible then.  You would have been considered one of the Pharisees or religious elite. While Jesus loved them as much as he loves you and me, He didn't tolerate their traditions and religiousness, because it put some many people in bondage.

Jesus came to set the captives free.  The "Captives" (you and me).

Do you feel free?

Once he set us free, he commissioned us to

1. Go!

2. And make disciples!

Not to sit and make converts.

Think about that for a minute!

How many of you are sitting in the pew waiting for your pastor or church leader to recognize your gifting or calling and release you into your ministry?  How long have you been waiting?

Do you feel free?

The religious spirit wants to keep you in your seats. It wants you to feel and to play church and have no real power.

The religious spirit has the look and feel of godliness but with no real power.

It gives you the warm and fuzzies and tickles your ear.

Makes you feel like your church tradtitions are moving you closer to Jesus, when all it is really doing is keeping you in your place.

Do you feel free?

So who or what is holding you back from moving in your gift or calling?  No one should!  NO ONE!

If you're not being equipped and trained the way you feel you should be, maybe it's time to move on.

Get out of that pew and move.  You have Jesus's permission.

You might feel free!
