Core Values
Core Values "The values that we hold dear and strive to grow in and model"
Reverence for the Word of God
The Scriptures are the inspired word of God, meaning they have a single author - the Holy Spirit. As such we hold the Scriptures in the highest regard. We are committed to studying and meditating on them. They are our standard for all matters of belief and faith. However, our goal is to not just know the Word of God, but to know the God of the Word. We revere the Word of God because it leads us to greater knowledge and intimacy with the One who authored it.
Dependence on the Spirit of God
We realize that to be what God has called us to be and to do what God has called us to do, we need His Holy Spirit to dwell in us, to guide us and to empower us. Therefore, we desire and are committed to being filled by and yielded to Him.
Controlled by the love of Christ
God is love. The Apostle Paul says that love is the greatest of the 3 eternal qualities of faith, hope and love (1 Cor 13:13). Because Jesus dwells in our heart, we desire to be rooted and grounded in His love, so that we may be filled with the fullness of God (Eph 3:18-19). Love is what motivated Jesus to lay His life down for us. Love is what causes a man to lay down his life for another. Our goal is to walk in the highest form and manifestation of love - the love of Jesus Christ.
Faith to move mountains
Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6). The purpose of faith is to raise our focus off of the temporary (what we can see) to the One who is Eternal. It is to show that we believe and trust the One True Eternal God, who we cannot see, above everything else including what we perceive and understand with our natural abilities. When we walk in this kind of faith, nothing is impossible, including the moving of any mountain (Matthew 17:20).
Hope that does not disappoint
Becoming a prophetic people
The prophetic represents the voice of the Lord. The Scriptures are the written Word of the Lord and our more sure word of prophecy (2 Peter 1:19). The Lord continues to speak today in various ways, all of which must be judged by the Scriptures. The purpose of the prophetic is to encourage, edify and comfort, to call forth destiny and proclaim God's purposes. The prophetic ministry is to teach and encourage all God's people to hear His voice and obey His voice ever better. The Scripture says that God does nothing except that He reveal it to His prophets. Everything God does, He speaks it into being.
Excellence
Do all things as unto the Lord.
Love for the truth – to be lovers of the truth
Our goal is not just to know the truth, but to love the truth. Those who love the truth are not concerned with their being right. They are able to discern what is good and what is evil. They are quick to admit when they are wrong. they are humble enough to learn from others, especially those they view as less knowledgeable.
Creativity
The God who does not make any two snowflakes alike is incredibly creative. We believe that His people, empowered by His Holy Spirit should reflect this creativity.
Risk taking
God requires that we walk by faith and not by sight. His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. This means that we are not always going to understand the direction and guidance that He gives us. He may decide to only show us one step at a time. Someone once said that " faith is stepping into your next arena of doubt." Therefore, we must be willing to take risks. Not only this, but the gifts and talents the Lord gives us must be developed. This comes from practice. This also means that we will make mistakes. And sometimes the harder you swing, the bigger the whiff when you miss. The Bible says that if you want strong ox then be prepared to clean up lots of manure. So, we encourage people to step out in faith, take risks and be willing and honest to admit mistakes so that we can learn from them.
Unity
The blessing is commanded in unity (Psalm 133).
Diversity
Loyalty
Covenant relationship, first with the Lord, then
Fellowship
Fellowship in the Spirit (Phil 2:1, 2 Cor 13:14). Fellowship with one another.
Liberty
Freedom is one of the greatest and noblest of human goals. And the greatest freedom is the freedom to be who you were created to be. Scripture tells us that "where the Spirit is, there is liberty."
Courage
Courage is one of the most important characteristic of truly great people. As one person said, "Courage is not the absence of fear, rather it is not letting fear control you." There have been many great examples of courage on the battlefield, but perhaps even greater examples of courage have come from those who have boldly taken a stand for righteousness and justice - those who have called us to live by a higher standard than the law and demanded justice for those oppressed. To live for Jesus Christ is to live by the highest standard, the love of Christ, it is to stand for what is right in God's sight, and it is to destroy the evil yokes that keep many oppressed. Physical oppression is terrible, spiritual oppression is far worse.
Humility
(teachable, know in part)
Submitting to authority
Authority is power. It is our desire to walk in power. The bible says that in order to walk in authority, you must be under authority. We recognize that authority has been and is sometimes abused, but the reality is that our attitude towards authority is a direct reflection of our attitude towards God.
